About Hlíðar and Öskjuhlíð: the back story

East and south of the centre, Hlíðar is a residential district with the Reykjavík Art Museum’s Kjarvalsstaðir beside Klambratún park. Beyond it, the wooded hill of Öskjuhlíð carries Perlan, and below, on the shore, the geothermal beach of Nauthólsvík.

Sights

Perlan, Kjarvalsstaðir and the woods of Öskjuhlíð.

Swimming

Nauthólsvík geothermal beach.

Combine Perlan with a swim at Nauthólsvík.

Our advice: go to Perlan’s deck for the sunset over the bay.
