Hotel Borg, at Pósthússtræti 11 on Austurvöllur square, was completed in 1930 and, in its own words, has been Iceland’s first and most celebrated deluxe hotel for nearly a century. Its founder made his fortune as a circus performer in America, the hotel records. Today it has 99 rooms, from singles to the Tower Suite with views over downtown Reykjavík, and a spa and fitness room.
