About The Nordic House
The Nordic House in Reykjavík opened in 1968 and is run by the Nordic Council of Ministers to foster cultural links between Iceland and the other Nordic countries; it was designed by the Finnish modernist architect Alvar Aalto (1898–1976), with the cylindrical skylight he first used in the library at Viipuri, in its own words. Exhibitions, talks and family events run through the year.
